WWA-Names We are lifelong educators and high school administrators.  We have studied systems and school models around the world. We understand that theory and research are crucial for quality school design.  However, the knowledge earned from implementation and practice makes the spread of innovations to schools practical and doable.  Most of all, we are "how to" implementors.

WWA-Vision

We wish to create a model of education that can cause all students to achieve by resolving any impediment to learning. We wish to work with anyone who has the same vision.

WWA-TheModel

The Empowered High Schools is a comprehensive framework which integrates multiple systems and processes into a mutually supportive model.   The model is dynamic. Empowered High Schools can grow with new research and adapt to different school situations.

WWA-Design&Research The HIGH-LEVEL FRAMEWORK is built using (1.) systems design theory, (2.) quality management and decision-making theory, and (3.) standardized operational practices from the medical community.
The INDIVIDUAL SYSTEMS are informed by the educational research and good practices from Response to Intervention, Professional Learning Communities, Social Emotional Learning, Continuous Quality Improvement, formative/summative assessment, standards benchmarking, backwards curriculum design, educational and team leadership literature, and others.
The ROUTINE LEVEL uses research-based strategies, which are constantly under consideration for inclusion for any of the processes or protocols within each system.
WWA-RTI

The Empowered High Schools Model is an RTI model for high schools.

WWA-PolDoable&Practical

The Empowered High School Model is scalable. It can be implemented with a single course team or a whole school district. It does not interfere with the existing traditional US high school model. Principals do not need to get permission to make radical changes. Our model sits within the existing system making quiet but substantial improvements.

Conversely in particular states, new RTI laws may require schools to use models like EHS to meet compliance regulations.
