Okay, it's bad form to comment on my own post, but I just found a great site. I really like the RtI pyramid graphic that they use.

There is a longer version of the following comment on RTI Network:

http://www.rtinetwork.org/index.php?option=com_fireboard&Itemid=165&func=view&catid=26&id=102#102

Charles' great post has just given all of us some important things to consider. We have several people, who are very interested in leadership and creating practical systems solutions is what we do best. So..... let me propose some ideas for consideration.

We know that leadership is crucial to the success of our model. I am not referring to adminstrators. We must promote the concept of a Teachers Leadership Corp. Presently, we have the following offical levels of teacher leadership:
1. Active contributors and subcommittee leaders within the PLT
2. PLT Leaders
3. Head of PLT Leaders Team

I propose a new leadership title: PLT Coach These persons would be trained and skilled to helping PLT Leaders and their teams move to the next highest level (Nine Levels of Capacity). Only coaches could become Head of PLT Leaders Team. Based on what Charles said, maybe we should have an Instructional Coach. Should these be the PLT Leader or should this be a separate title?
Such as:
1. Active contributors and subcommitee leaders within the PLT
2. Instructional Coach
3. PLT Leader
4. PLT Coach
5. Head of PLT Leaders Team

I think these new Coach positions can give those hardworking, talented teachers who may never wish to move into administration, but want to help make the school better and use their skills, recieve the recognition and status they deserve.

What do you think?
